So skin care might be one of my top 10 favorite things in the world. Seriously.
Luckily I work at a company where I can talk about it all day long and help others, but also help myself.
I get told on a daily basis how beautiful my skin is, but the older I get, the more I have to work at it! I finally caved and ended up getting a Clarisonic Mia 2 today with Boscia products and I cannot wait to get it.
Even though people tell me I have perfect skin, it really isn’t. Getting a 10x magnified lighted mirror hasn’t helped (lol) but I’ve been using some good stuff for a while and I’m in love with it. My customers ask me all day every day what I use, so I’m just going to put it out there into the tumblr-verse. If anyone has any questions especially in regards to Lush or vegan products, feel free to ask!
MAKEUP REMOVER: Switches between Lush’s 9 to 5 cleanser (what I’ll be doing with my Mia), and when I’m lazy, elf’s Makeup Removing Cleansing Cloths. 9 to 5 is definitely my favorite, and super gentle since I have dry, sensitive skin.
CLEANSER: Switches between Lush’s Let The Good Times Roll cleanser and Buche De Noel cleanser. Unfortunately these are both holiday items (LTGTR WAS just recently re-discontinued - if you store has any, get them now!) but I bought plenty of LTGTR and have it stashed in my freezer for when I need to bust it out! Now that it’s gone for good I definitely have to use it more sparingly; really difficult when it smells like cookies! If I happen to run out of both, I’ll move back to Angels on Bare Skin.
TONER: Lush’s Eau Roma Water. Period. I have taken off the spray part and put on a regular cap so I use it with a cotton ball. Best stuff ever. EVER.
DAY MOISTURIZER: Kiss My Face’s Face Factor SPF 30 when my skin actually is glorious, and I will use it as a base in the summer. Usually a tinted moisturizer or BB cream is used more daily. My all-time fave which I am almost out of is Stila’s Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 15 (RIP), but I also have elf’s tinted moisturizer with SPF 20 and Smashbox’s Camera Ready BB Cream with SPF 35, but I am not a big fan of it; I’ll be switching to Boscia’s BB Cream when I run out of it.
NIGHT MOISTURIZER: Lush’s Full of Grace Serum bar. Seriously one of the best buys in the store. I feel like a princess every night when I go to sleep and I wake up, and my husband always sniffs me happily and says I smell like Lush. Moisturizes like a beast without breaking you out - any skin type can use this. I’ve also been using a sample of Tarte’s Maracuja Oil for night time, but I’m a bit meh on it. Maybe I’ll try it daily over my KMF SPF.
EYE CREAM: Kiss My Face’s Eye Witness. Really good product, I use it for day and use Full of Grace for night. Really want to try 100% Pure’s coffee eye cream though.
FACE MASK: Lush’s Catastrophe Cosmetic. Literally the only vegan one I can use (I’m allergic to bananas), and I love it with Full of Grace underneath. If it was vegan, I would probably be crazy over BB Seaweed. I’m looking into other options for something that doesn’t require refrigeration and that is vegan and cruelty-free as well.
PRIMER: elf’s Mineral Infused Face Primer is AMAZING. I use this before I put on my moisturizer, after my eye cream. I can’t even stress how great this is and how it has transformed my skin and helped in its flawless application of my moisturizers. Brilliant. The sheer is my favorite, brightening lavender is okay, the radiant one is crap. Stick with sheer.
EYE REFRESH: elf’s Eye Refresh. Very cool (literally!) after a late night or when I forgot to use my Full of Grace the night before. Takes me from the walking dead to the drop-dead gorgeous in seconds.
SPOT TREATMENT: elf’s Zit Zapper or Lush’s Grease Lightning. ZZ for direct spots, GL mixed with my moisturizer when my skin is going crazy. Hormones, how we love thee!
Drumroll for my #1 favorite product (other than Full of Grace) that makes me feel and look like royalty, that everyone can use -
TRANSLUCENT POWDER: Lush’s Emotional Brilliance Translucent Powder! This makes me look crazy airbrushed and I’m betting it’s the #1 reason my customers tell me I have lovely skin. It lasts forever since you don’t need too much of it, and I use it to set all of my makeup and apply after my moisturizer with elf’s mineral makeup brush - it’s small enough that it will fit with the EB cap. This product is my favorite thing to come out at Lush in the past year by freakin’ far. If they ever get rid of it, I will riot. It makes your skin feel SO soft, and if used correctly it will just look like a better version of your skin. Great for those who want a more natural look without cakeyness.
I hope I might have helped or at least given some ideas to those of you who might need a skincare regime or want to try something new, or might be missing something in your routine. Ask me any skin care questions you may have! <3
Steam was bouncing off my skin in the bath. I’m glad I could finally enjoy my Santa bath! #candles #bath #meltingsnowman #fatherchristmas #santassack #lush #lushcosmetics
